The Odyssey!

https://gumroad.com/l/eJAAD

Click the above link to get my latest book. It's Homer's The Odyssey traslated by Samuel Butler with design and illustrations from me!

This was a very fun project, though it took me a very long time to complete. Heh, irony.

Thanks for the support.

Cyrus the Cycloptic Saguaro

OK, I'm a total weirdo. Once in a while, I learn to embrace it.

I'm doing that with these comics entitled "Cyrus the Cycloptic Saguaro".

He's an odd fellow. It's not just because he's a talking, sentient, one-eyed cactus. His outlook on life is a little off, which is most enjoyable.

Check it out. Let me know what you think of him.

The link to one of his comics is above this sensational sentence.

Enjoy.

Spearmint and Robot Destroyers From Planet Earth Story Paragraph 5 of 5

That's right, at minute 52, Arturo had all of Spearmint and Tommy suited up with jet powered spacesuits! With the power of imagination, something robots do NOT understand, this new super force blasted through every robot. They planted their banner on the ship and it read, "Improv Double Feature: Robot Destroyers From Planet Earth & Spearmint- Fri. Aug. 25 | 10pm | FREE | The Torch Theatre | 4721 N. Central Ave.". And, they were all impressed with Franny's design skills. THE END

Patreon

This week, on Patreon I did some posts of pencil sketches and in the description fields I wrote some nonsense. Of course I did it to amuse myself and to see if it would amuse others.

Phoenix Art Museum!!!

I am thankful that I got a chance to work again with Dain Gore, a truly sensational artist. We did a puppet show as a part of the Phoenix Art Museum's Free Family Weekend (sponsored by Discount Tire).
Dain has a captivating imagination and great skill as a painter, so he painted us some amazing 2-D rod puppets exploring a magical world of dragons, spirits, and samurai. The staff at the museum were kind, efficient, and totally professional. We look forward to working with them again... Stay tuned for further details.

Fred the Mustard Packet is Spinning a Sign!

Well, not yet.

He will twirl a sign though. It's in the title for a reason.

I'm enjoying the easy-to-use Webtoons platform. And, I am finding that Fred is a good way to get my stories out of me. I have a ton of crazy stories in notepads and in areas of my brain. I find that Fred plus Webtoons will be a great way to get those stories out. With the current schedule I should have a Fred the Mustard Packet graphic novel done every year, and maybe some years I'll have two completed. I enjoy treating it like a newspaper comic strip and a graphic novel. It pushes me to make each page funny enough to stand on its own and to make each page work as a part of a bigger story. Fun stuff.

Thank you to those of you who subscribe, like and share the Fred pages. And, a giant HUGE thank you to all of my Patreon supporters. Every click of support truly does help Fred and all of the other Cannon projects move forward and upward.

There is No Such Thing as a One-Person Show.

These past five days have been hard work, yet sensational.

I've wrapped up my fifth year as an Art teacher for the AZ public schools and I'm looking forward to my sixth. Laurie and Shane Shellenbarger did a lot of help for our school. That fine couple does an improv show at The Torch Theatre called Tofu Filet. If you ever see them listed on the Torch's schedule, get a ticket right away! Don't even wait a second, get it when you see it! They helped students of the arts, a retired veteran teacher, gifted students, and special need preschool students all in one big afternoon! Thank you, Shellenbargers!

The next day, Phoenix Comicon hit...

So, I need to thank Mike Dynes for running an excellent booth (Mike's Rack), and allowing me to work for it again. He also let me sell some of my own product, which was sweet. Thanks to Russ Kazmierczak and Denny Riccelli for promoting my work in Amazing Arizona Comics and Comics Never Stop respectively. Thanks to Philip Haldiman, Kyle Bennett and Rachel Tullio for making the comic My Big Break happen, it's a wonderful project that I'm proud to be a part of. Thanks to the people of ImprovMania: Brad Walling, JC Carlson, and Trent Fritz. I had awesome panels and friendly fans to make everything fun. Thanks to the people of the Torch Theatre: Shane Carey and Nina Miller. They both contributed to me having great panels, fun times, and wonderful discussions. Thanks to the Great Arizona Puppet Theater's Dain Gore for helping immensely with one of my panels as well. And, a huge thanks to Phoenix Comicon's AJ Hernandez for making those panels happen and dealing with a lunatic like me like a total champ on the phone. Thanks to my wonderful wife Michelle, who constantly picks me up when I am down and gets me back into the race in such a sweet, supportive way. Also, I had an endless array of friends, old and new, who offered me their support as fans and boosters of the morale. I know that I'm missing at least seven dozen people to thank.

I would also like to thank Mack Duncan, Jacque Arend, Jose Gonzalez, and Liz Hutchman who are about to make my "One-Person" Show happen at the Torch Theatre.

This community constantly gives to me, I will never be able to pay it back.

Haldi Enterprises Logo

When Philip Haldiman began the comic book My Big Break, we needed a logo for his newly formed enterprise. Phil's a creative guy. He's a comic book writer, a poet, a journalist, and a podcaster. So, having a logo that's just pegged onto the business of comic books wouldn't do Phil justice. His creativity sparked me to create a hand drawn piece to it, and his professionalism led me to create a piece of the logo that would be more like some one would see in a newspaper or magazine. So, it's a duo logo serving both creativity and professionalism. Thanks Phil, for trusting me with this task!
